Biko: Sticky Rice for Good Fortune to Stick ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒพ

Biko is a sweet rice cake from the Philippines. It is made of coconut milk, brown sugar, and glutinous rice. It is usually topped with latik. It is a type of kalamay dish and is prepared similarly, except the rice grains are not ground into a paste.

On our 1st Quarter Task, yet again, We are tasked to cook native Filipino delicacies. And Voila! Our group got the biko. Biko is one of my favorite merienda. Because of its taste and texture, I fell in love with it more and while i'm typing this, i am actually craving for one right now.

As for my title: Sticky Rice for Good Fortune, Well you're probably wondering about the relevance of it to the topic. Well, there's a story behind it.

Actually, on the day of this performance task, we didn't brought any coconut milk/ coconut cream. Which is honestly a sham because it is the main ingredient of our biko. Now that i'm thinking about it, Wow. We actually managed to get through that.

Anyways, since there weren't any niyog, we are in DEEP TROUBLE at that time, since the time is nearing for our PT. But then miracle came, (which meant the niyog was sent by a very angelic herald; i don't know who that is but you saved our lives.)

So sticky rice, really , is lucky. There's some kind of positive vibe going on with this rice. Perhaps i need one in my pocket, everyday and everywhere. Maybe somehow i'll be lucky enough to win the lottery or get a perfect score in every CPTLE Tasks/Exams/Quizzes. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anywaysss.. Here's our take on the infamous sticky rice, Biko:

Oh, erase that. We actually copied our recipe from a video on youtube. Here it is:

How did it went for us? Well..

After a couple of sitting down and eating some latik, Finally..

A sprinkle of mishap and miracles... I present to you, The Almighty Biko!

Got it right and awesome! Our very greasy, overly sweet yet delectable Biko.

And that's it for another episode of PT! (Probably this is the last episode for this Season. But tune out for Season 2!)

                         Pouring my heart out, xx
